Change your location

Feeling stuck? Like the rat on the wheel? I understand. But what needs to happen to get unstuck.? I remember as a kid growing up in the islands in the country, when we had to clear a path in the family garden for irrigation purposes. We had to remove the debris that kept the water from flowing. So, it begs the question what is it that you have to remove? Maybe some people in our lives? Check-done that. Maybe some things in our lives? Check-done that. Then how about places…your location? Been procrastinating on this for a while. That’s me!

The change that is being recommended is not always physical but oftentimes mental. Changing ones perspective and world view can produce a breath of fresh air. Is the glass really always half empty? As we look around we can agree that the location of our thoughts may be the answer. Using our upbringings and cultural backgrounds we are hesitant to make that mental shift and burdened ourselves with unnecessary clatter.

The past brings along emotional baggage, and if not addressed we carry it from place to place. Dr. Claudia Black has an interesting video on YouTube called the ‘Baggage Cart’. which explains the need to empty the cart that carries ones emotional baggage. For example, I was indoctrinated with, “We do not talk about our problems unless it is with family.” Boy, that kept me in an emotional stronghold for many years even after migrating to the US. I was stuck and never shared with anyone. Only when I changed my location (my mindset) mentally I was able to breathe that fresh air that was always there.

Today, if you are challenged with this, open your hearts to new ideas, new concepts, new belief systems. One of my favorite prayers has been to ask God to remove the scales from my eyes. And it has worked and continues to work. Let’s bring some faith, humility, and love to the table, and watch you location immediately change.
